What i have leant today

 The first Thing i have learnt today was about Pluto. Pluto is a dwarf planet. The snow on Pluto is a shade of Dark Red. 

And we went to Mindful Movements.

We started off doing some pose'es, and then we stopped. Erica, the Mindfulness teacher. She put on like a bell song / sound thing. it was cool. 

   

 

Te Reo Maori Moment

 On Ratu / Tuesday 14 of Mahuru at 12pm, our akomanga took part in the national reo maori moment. We went and joined tangaroa in our Papa Whakaari & called out "Kia Kaha To Reo Maori! Korero Maori"

Maori means (to me)

Its like, a language that is kind of deep in my heart.

Kids in Space

This term we are learning about space. On Monday, we went to Kids in Space. Kids in Space is a programme that came to our school. We got to dress up as an astronaut. I wore a white suit. Here is a photo of my class in our suits

We learnt about how to eat in space. We made a flip book about the moon phases. Did you know that there's a phase called the "Waxing Crescent" We also made a straw rocket. here is a link to the instructions for making your own rocket

Korean culture

 In the past week we’ve been learning about different cultures. In my group I had Miriam, Pippin, Te Paea, Mana and Eva. As a group we had to choose what culture we wanted to do and we chose Korean. We had to research their traditional things they do/have such as Traditional clothing, music, games, kai, holidays, location and then beliefs and values. 

After we had our information we shared on a slide, we had to make a poster about it with the information about the topics we had to research about. We also added photos. 

It was a little hard because it came up with lots and lots of answers.

Some stuff about the great fleet

Today for our mahi we got put into groups with the year 8,7,6, and 4's. The people in my group was miriam, Pippin, Mana and Eva. The other groups had to find out stuff about the other waka but my group had to find out about the fleet which is the 7 different waka. For the first 2 blocks we had to research about the 7 waka and at the end of the second block we started making a sheet of all the research we found and had to add a border with Maori patterns as well as pictures of waka.
